Make investing education accessible, social and consequence-free for every Australian university student. The market is the most expensive classroom in the world — TradeArena lets you learn in it without paying tuition in real losses.
What you get
- Paper trade real markets — ASX-listed equities, US stocks, the major crypto pairs and FX, with live prices, candle charts, market and limit orders, and a real-feeling order panel.
- Campus leagues — UNSW vs USYD vs Monash vs UQ. Weekly leaderboards by university, by faculty, by year. Bragging rights are very real, even when the dollars aren't.
- School of Trading — bite-sized lessons that take you from "what is a stock?" to running a risk-managed paper book, with quizzes that unlock bonus paper-capital.
- Reels — share your trade theses, follow educators on your campus, mirror their setups one-tap.
Why we built it
Most "trading apps" are built by adults trying to extract fees from students. We're building TradeArena the other way around — a platform we'd actually want our friends to use, with no real money on the line until you're genuinely ready and the product is licensed by ASIC.
Built in Sydney, 2025
TradeArena was started in 2025 by a small group of Sydney uni students who were tired of seeing classmates blow up their first $500 on options they didn't understand. We use Supabase, Yahoo Finance, CoinGecko, Frankfurter and Alpaca to power the simulation, and the navy/gold visual identity is a quiet nod to the Cinzel-and-cream aesthetic of old finance done with new tools.
